Treasure Hacks Internship

Treasure Hacks Internship

During the fall semester of 2023, I worked in the role of social media intern at Treasure Hacks, a non-profit organization based out of San Diego in California. At its core, Treasure Hacks comprises a group of passionate college students committed to effecting positive change within secondary and higher education. The organization’s primary goal is to assist students in acquiring and refining practical soft skills, with a specific focus on facilitating a more seamless transition from school to the professional workplace. In my internship role I created the brand guidelines for the company, multiple event promotional posters, and ran the Instagram, generating engagement and working to create viral content.

What elements make up this brand?

  • While I didn’t create this logo, I was consulted for a rebrand. We changed the pairing typeface and cleaned up the lockup.

  • We opted to leave a lot of depth and variety to the colors in the rebrand, only changing the accent color to blue instead of purple to better match the website.

  • For this brand I used Urbanist SemiBold for the logo type lockup, Anton for the headers, and Lato for the body copy.

During the semester of running the Treasure Hacks Instagram account, we had a big challenge gaining traction, encouraging engagement, and increasing views on our content. I worked with the Marketing Intern to do extensive trend research and analytics for the posts we were making, and worked to determine schedules and posts that we felt would lead to success. By the end of the semester, reels we posted were often getting over 1000 views (compared to 30 or less at the beginning of the semester), and we were gaining consistent viewership on our posts outside of our regular followers.
