Coffee Break
Coffee Break
This gift set includes a high-quality coffee-stained wooden box, laser etched coasters, a pour-over coffee kit, a journal, a meditative stone-stacking kit, and a detailed handbook with history and instructions for use of all the items. Designed from the ground up, from brand guidelines to the inserts and burlap lining of the box, this project encompasses a mix of my personal passions and my design style.
What elements make up this brand?
-
The brand mark unifies the meditative focus of the kit with the coffee that serves as the center piece. The logo is the shape of a lotus flower, made out of coffee beans. The lotus flower is a symbol associated with Hinduism and Buddhism, tying to spirituality and enlightenment, as well as being connected to resilience and strength. I wanted the brand’s iconography to connect these elements together, generating a peaceful, spiritually connected, and grounded feel for the brand.
-
The color palette for this brand was reminiscent of the different styles of coffee, including a calming blue as an accent color.
-
For this brand I used Calder Dark Grit Shadow for the header type, and Calder LC for the body copy.
Make it
The handbook for this kit was a heavy focal point of my design work, bringing together a number of pieces that otherwise might seem unconnected. I used large and striking images along with extensive research to provide history and instructions for each piece of the kit, inviting the user to dive deeper into their connection to these items.
